The body is enveloped by various directions of fascia nets. What is fascia? Fascia is a tough connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three-dimensional web from head to toe without disconnecting. Fascia nets act as the building blocks of the body, the bone gives the body a structure, and the connective tissues protect and support the body for movement. Trauma, bad posture and/or inflammation can construct binding down of the fascia which is known as scar tissues or adhesion of the fascia resulting in extreme pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, osseous structure and/or organs. Prolonged inactivity and excessive pressure to the nerves and spine, we are heading ourselves which we called “OLD AGE” and stiffness. With this bodywork treatment, not only you will get your asymmetry restored, but you will also feel the re-establishment of the quality of life and mental clarity.
How does it work?
Assessment is being reviewed by a therapist while the client is standing in different directions, walking with bared-feet and lying on the treatment table. A person’s posture is highly correlated to his/her daily activities at home, at work, at the gym etc. Typically, a person’s body discrepancies include legs length imbalance, elevated and forward rotation of one shoulder or both, protruded head, anterior and/or posterior rotation of both hip joints or both, excessive rotation of the foot either pronation (dropped foot) or supination (extreme arch). Mostly all problems are derived from the bottom of the feet.
Remember, spot massage can only exasperate the areas. In the therapeutic world, it is called the hot-spot. Perhaps, you all have experienced a back deep tissue massage for 30 or 60mins. You may feel good then, but this only enhances the aggravation of the muscles spasm-cycle. The body consists of many different directions of fascia meridians. One fascia meridian could support its own direction of alignment. Thus, the body is enveloped by different directions of fascia. In this case, the body should be carefully scrutinized. One wrong decision would bring upon aggravation of the muscle spasm-cycle. When the released of the fascia is being accomplished, stretching will come easy later. Then the range of motion is increased steadily without ripping the muscles apart.
Use a car as an analogy for a body. Take a flat tire as an example. The air of one of the tires is gradually deflating while you're driving. Slowly but surely, you will feel your car's alignment is off and the speed of the car reduces. If one tiny problem is not being resolved as soon as possible, the deflated tire finally shreds its thread and puts you in danger. It goes the same to a human body. A flat tire is relatively similar to a person who has flat feet. This is where the problem begins. If flat feet are not corrected over the period of time, problems such as tight SI joints, tight hamstrings, tight gluteus medi us and minimus etc may arise. One kink leads to another. By the time you realize it, it's too late your body needs major overhaul and alignment. Thus, normal functional activities cannot be sustained due to the long term compensation of the body. Slowly but surely the body takes its’ tolls. As a result, the chain reaction occurs. The fascia webs become twisted and the connective tissues start to tax the body with more metabolite waste. That’s when the sensitivity of the body begins. The body compensates one side due to pain. As a result, the brain sends out messages to all different directions to the body which are known as referred pains. Imagine the brain signals as if it were the sewage being backed up, and someone tries to flush the toilet. As expected, the toilet becomes overflow and water starts to flood the whole area. These are what we see in the stressful physical world in our lives. If the body is in distress, the mind makes hasty decision.
In order to allow your body to move gracefully, you should at least maintain your body through bodywork therapy on a regular basis. In the long run, this treatment will benefit your health and enhance the quality of life. Love yourself and take care of your body. Then your body will do the work for you more efficiently as you move on to your wisdom age. Spiritually, this expands your horizon to mental clarity too.
