The owner/therapist:
Kunnee Chew
Kunnee is the founder of Health Tune Up & Chi
Revive, Inc since 2003. She is gifted with an exceptional pair of
therapeutic hands. She was born and raised in her native country, Malaysia.
During her growing up years, she has had her shares of growing pains.
Ironically, being a mediocre athlete as she is,
Kunnee excels favorably in almost every sport. The year
she graduated from high school she embarked to the journey
of sports. She represented the Malaysian Women’s basketball team for 4
consecutive years. Within those years of commitment to her team,
she had led her team to the Olympic & the women's World Cup.
Subsequently, she discovered the passion in her life
then. Because of the competitiveness in most athletes, they
often get injured during games & trainings. Regardless of the individual's
activities, the over-used muscles will always be shortened and
contracted. That's when Kunnee got into therapeutic bodywork.
In the early 90's, she momentarily stopped & went
to school in the States. She enrolled herself in one of the local colleges in
South Florida. During her academic years, she had participated
in the volunteer program at the local hospitals in Miami &
Hollywood. She graduated from Miami-Dade College, Florida
Atlantic University, Indiana State University & American Institute of
Massage Therapy. She holds a Master degree
in Athletic Training, Bachelor degree in Exercise Science
& Wellness & Associate degree in Physical Therapy at the
above college & universities. Kunnee is also a fitness
specialist certified for the American college of Sports Medicine
Association & licensed massage therapist in Florida
State.
She has relentlessly seeking to fulfill her life with different
challenges. Kunnee has played different roles in the sports medicine
field, such as, Athletic Trainer, Exercise Physiologist, certified
Kinesiologist, Emergency Medical Technician, health & fitness specialist
& licensed massage therapist. Through the years of different experiences,
she found that being an intuitive body worker is the most challenging career
that she has ever encountered. Not only that
being an intuitive body worker has changed her clients’ lives, but also it has
certainly made a big difference in hers. The most gratifying work that she
has done thus far is to see her clients walk out of the treatment room feeling
pain free with a great satisfaction smile. Her specialty is to help
individuals to tune up their physical asymmetry challenged bodies to a
more functional order.
She has had her shares of different injuries and
continuous physical rehabilitations throughout the years of excessive
& intensive training. Unfortunately, conservative treatments could only
temporarily relieve aches & pains. In fact, residue of scar
tissues can ultimately lead to long term calcification in the
joints and adhesions of the fascia which we claim to be in our old age. Thanks
to all the respectable intellectuals out there who have favorably inspired
her in the therapeutic world to what she becomes today, a reputable
body worker. She has grown extensively and quickly in the therapeutic world in
just a short few years.
